The Advantage

The Advantage is a quarterly publication for maximizing profits and achieving a competitive Advantage in the retail market place. The Advantage is divided into three monthly sections for each quarter, and a deli-fast foods section. Retailers are afforded the opportunity to pre-book seasonal and holiday products and other promotional floor shippers, counter units, and items offered by the vendors with deep discounts. Each monthly section is limited to 30-35 surveys. This even distribution of promotional opportunities allows the retailer to effectively manage a quarterly promotional schedule months in advance. Food Service Programs

The Program Deli-Fast Foods™ offers the customers of Grocery Supply Company the opportunity to be a part of a branded program that is designed to support the customer, as well as offering manufacturer rebates to the retailers. To meet the ever changing market trends, Deli-Fast Foods™ has a chicken shop, a hamburger shop, and a sub sandwich shop. No franchise fees, no royalties, and no advertising fees have made the “Always Good, Always Fresh Deli-Fast Foods™” a popular choice with Grocery Supply Company customers. On-site training, customized menus, operational manual, logo merchandising, and product support are just a few of the advantages of the “Always Good, Always Fresh Deli-Fast Foods™” brand.

A full line of “Always Good, Always Fresh Deli-Fast Foods™” logo items are available to our customers. Hats, shirts, bags, cups, boxes, indoor and outdoor signs, and a full service kiosk are part of the deli-fast foods logo program offered. Fleet Graphics

The Grocery Supply Company Fleet Advertising Program is designed to offer our manufacturer partners an opportunity to advertise their products in a unique and effective manner. Trailer space can be leased up to a three year term creating product awareness in a cost efficient manner. Each graphic image is produced on 3M Scotchlite reflective film to give your product the most impressions both day and night. The high resolution graphic will occupy a 75" x 264" area on both sides of the trailer. For more information, contact Steve Shing.
Golf Tournament

Grocery Supply Company and GSC Enterprises, Inc., hosts an annual golf tournament in the Dallas-Fort Worth area that benefits many needy organizations. Incentive Travel

The Retail Customer Marketing Incentive Program is especially designed for our valued customers and for participating brokers, and suppliers who sponsor the program. This concept is geared for more case movement through our distribution centers for you as a supplier/sponsor with the travel destination becoming a byproduct. This program is an innovative approach in the food distribution industry. Suppliers realize dramatic sales increases during the promotional period. In supporting this program, retailers are motivated to promote the sponsor's products in a number of positive merchandising ways during the promotional period. The suppliers are invited to become trip sponsors and join our customers and Grocery Supply Company management people on trips. Some exciting destinations visited in the past include: Ireland, Hawaii, Switzerland, Rome, Hong Kong, an Alaskan Cruise, Acapulco, Cancun, Rio de Janeiro and others. The Retail Customer Marketing Incentive Program helps increase case movement, produce greater sales, and provides greater profits, with and exciting trip destination as a bonus. Marketplace

Each year, Grocery Supply Company hosts an annual trade show, the Marketplace. The Marketplace offers ourselves, our vendors, and our retailers an opportunity to identify new market opportunities, new products, discuss new innovations, and renew and or establish mutually beneficial relationships. This annual event is eagerly anticipated each year by Grocery Supply Company and its vendor/retail partners. The host city to Marketplace is Arlington, Texas. MarketPulse

The MarketPulse Weekly Bulletin and Sales Booster is published weekly by the Sulphur Springs and San Antonio Distribution Centers. This weekly bulletin provides retailers with pertinent market and industry information as well as current product and program information available from Grocery Supply Company.

Cover. New items available at Grocery Supply Company are featured in full color on the front cover and reverse side of the MarketPulse. Product information, pricing, allowances, and item numbers for ordering are provided for these products.

Customer Bulletin Board. Grocery Supply customers are provided the opportunity to list stores and equipment which they wish to sell.

New/Replacement Items. New items to be listed in our Master Catalog and replacement items for discontinued product are listed each week.

Allowances. Current manufacturer allowances are listed each week.

Surveys. Products which must be pre-booked to ensure quantity or require advance orders are shown in the MarketPulse.

Price Increases/Decreases. All price increases and decreases (advances and declines) are listed each week.

News and Views. A weekly exchange of marketing trends and industry information designed to provide retailers with useful, current information for developing their merchandising strategies.

Deli-Fast Food Feature. A weekly suggested Deli-Fast Food recipe from products available at Grocery Supply Company. Components, preparation, value-added variations, and gross profit analysis are offered in this weekly segment. Our retail customers are invited to submit their favorite recipe for publication.

W.I.C. Program. Women, Infants, and Children program. A current listing of eligible product is listed each week.


Master Catalog Advertising

A Master Catalog is printed every eight weeks for our customers. This catalog contains all product available to our customers. Each GSC division has its own unique master catalog based on its product mix and customer demand. Each item listed has a detailed description, GSC item number, ship pack, product size, suggested retail price, and a gross profit percent based on the suggested retail. Placed throughout the catalog, are 2" x 3" ads detailing product which are listed directly below the ad. Information also listed in the catalog include: ordering instructions, helpful hints for writing a weekly grocery order, order transmission instructions, names and phone numbers of GSC personnel to contact regarding any distribution function, and other helpful customer information. Yearly Planner & Schedule

The GSC Monthly Planner is the ideal vehicle for bringing product visuals to the attention of our retail customers.  This unique form of advertising presents a 28-31 day showcase of your product placing your image strategically by month and season.  The planner is a useful tool for the promotion of new products as well.  Specific slots may be reserved for the presentation of new products during the month of the product debut.  Multiple slots may be purchased in the same month, or periodically throughout the year.  Approximately 2,000 planners are distributed to our retailers each year.
